Copeman’s Tomb is a stunning limestone promontory that lords over the Bighorn Mountains and some of the world’s most ancient rock formations; the Precambrian rocks in this part of the mountains are more than 2.9 billion years old. Copeman’s Tomb is best appreciated from the viewing deck at Shell Falls, one of the most beautiful attractions in the whole of the Bighorn National Forest. The Shell Falls Interpretive Center features information on local geology, topography, flora and fauna and more, and has info on local hikes, in case you feel like getting even closer to the wilderness.
