A Paris Neighborhood Walking Tour
Slightly off the beaten path in Paris, this great walking tour fills in the historic period from the 16th to 18th Centuries, when the aristocracy made this neighborhood on the Seine their home. The guided, small-group tour (it was just us two with our docent) doesn't spend much time in the interiors, but it's easy to get a grasp on this historic period, a turning point in France. The walk also introduced us to present-day Marais, a cool area that's home to the Picasso Museum and plenty of boutique shops and appealing bistros.
