Cincinnati's Contemporary Art Scene
Founded in 1939, the Contemporary Arts Center in downtown Cincinnati's mission is to explore the relationship between art and life by means of (often interactive) exhibits. It also extends beyond the walls of the museum, as Shepard Fairey installed a number a public murals around the region to celebrate the CAC's first retrospective in 2010. The UnMuseum on the sixth floor is a revelation for kids, too—based on hands-on learning, the UnMuseum offers structured programs as well as studio space in the form of their Art Lab.
