Experience Columbus' Short North Arts District

Columbus' Short North Arts District has something for every traveler: fine dining, trendy shops, convenience to sports venues, nightly entertainment, craft beers and upscale accommodations. Located primarily along High Street, and distinguished by the city's trademark arches, the district is accessible by the complimentary CBus, taxis, and car service apps. It is also walkable, and visitors will enjoy the vibrant signage that designates many of the establishments on High Street. Grab a bite at North Market, where the fare ranges from Taste of Belgium to Destination Donuts, to the Southeastern Asian delicacies of Momo Ghar. There is also a Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams here, the original in a popular local chain.

Sports fans will take in a Columbus Clippers AAA baseball game, see the NHL Blue Jackets at Nationwide Arena, or Ohio State football, basketball or track and field. Nationwide Arena was recent host to the NCAA Women's Basketball Final Four. Marriott International is the Official Hotel Partner for all NCAA championships, Division I through Division III, in all 24 sports. Those attending games or events on campus, will find the Marriott Columbus University Area an ideal base. Baseball fans have a short hop from The Westin Columbus to Huntington Park, home of the Clippers.

Dining options include Basi Italia on Highland Street, a short walk from North High, The Guild House in High Street's Le Meridien Columbus Hotel, The Joseph, or The Table, Sang Lakhani's friendly spot featuring healthy but hearty fare on East Fifth, also accessible on foot on by CBus.

Recreation or nature buffs should visit Goodale Park or Schiller Park, bike the Scioto Mile, or tour Franklin Park Conservatory. They will encounter river views, birding, flora, and stately Victorian homes circling the city parks. No stay here is complete without seeing the community of German Village, with its brewing tradition, small cafes, and one of the U.S.' largest independent bookstores, the 32 room Book Loft (on South Third).

All these attractions are within sightseeing distance of The Short North. You are certain to find some experiences of your own, in Ohio's largest city.
