Coffin Bay Oyster Farms

Coffin Bay Oyster Farms

For shellfish aficionados, it doesn’t get much better than eating oysters fresh from the ocean, and the oysters of Coffin Bay are known for their especially salty yet sweet taste. Head across the Eyre Peninsula from Port Lincoln to Coffin Bay, where you can learn about the local oyster industry before donning waders and harvesting your own snack (if you prefer to stay on dry land, you can taste oysters just as fresh in the oyster sheds). Get a hands-on shucking lesson, and enjoy the fruits of your labor with a glass of wine. Traveling back to Port Lincoln, you might spy wild ponies running along the beaches of Coffin Bay National Park as you take in the panoramic views above the town.
