Keen to find Canadian fashion? Look no further than Coal Miner’s Daughter, a mini chain of boutiques that carries a trove of clothing and accessories, mostly from Canadian designers. Walk out with a vintage-style frock from Birds of North America or a pair of high-waisted, Joan Jett–inspired jeans from Iris Denim—both Toronto-based labels. The boutiques stick to a quirky-cool aesthetic that doesn’t feel too trendy, meaning that these pieces won’t get stale after a single season. In addition to garments, the shops carry bags, jewelry, and other accessories—many of which can proclaim Canadian heritage too.

Pretty Clothes in TO
Coal Miner's Daughter has two locations, both of which are fantastic, though because I'm on Queen St. more than I'm in Mirvish Village, I'm partial to this location. This boutique is cute and charming, chock full of frocks and jewlery, mainly from local Toronto designers. You're bound to find something whimsical here. One of the best affordable shops on Queen St West!
