Clyfford Still Museum, Denver

It’s not just about the art in the building, but the building itself is a huge part of the experience. Abstract Expressionist artist Clyfford Still brought new inspiration to the art world after World War II with his work. The collection was donated to the City of Denver in 2004 and 2005 and his work has been recognized as making him one of the most important painters of the 20th Century. The permanent exhibit includes nearly 95 percent of Still’s work, making it one of the largest collections of a single artist’s work. The nearly 3,200 works created between 1920 and 1980 includes paintings, works on paper, sculptures, and archives.
