Look both ways before you walk. This pedestrian path, which skirts the cliffs that run between the mansions and the Atlantic, splits your focus—should you watch the waves crashing on the rocks and the sailboats tacking into the wind or should you turn your humble gaze upon the extravagant Gilded Age palaces, built for American royalty? From its 1st Beach entrance all the way to the Breakers, the path is mostly paved and can easily be entered or exited at the end of the streets along its 5.6-kilometer (3.5-mile) route.
