Not all beaches are created equal. If you're a water loving human, as I've become, then you're probably always on the lookout for gorgeous beaches and warm water. Clarkes Beach in Byron Bay is what Venice Beach could only hope to ever become - hippie vibes, small businesses, young locals, and temporary transplants looking in search of "something..." But on a clean beach. Don't get me wrong, I am a Los Angeles native and almost every Aussie I've met who's ever been to LA raves of bike rides on Venice and the LA sunset. Perhaps this is a case of "the grass is greener" syndrome but all things being equal the Byron Bay shores have got the cold Pacific Ocean beat.
