As the Chicago Academy H.S group traveled across Costa Rica, we were amazed by how green the country was; and I don't mean the color. There were wind turbines, dams for hydro-power, and a lot of people also recycled. We visited a Finca owned by Don Juan, the finca (farm) contained a restaurant and a hectare of land. On that small patch of land, the restaurant grew all the ingredients it needed organically. The tour of the land was very educative about growing plants organically. The Tour guide was very knowledgeable and very enthusiastic, we all had fun on the tour; we were always laughing and learning. After the tour we were able to enjoy the delicious cooked meal from an organic farm. One can really taste the difference in quality from natural foods compared to the ones one eats at home.
