In winter, there are fewer pleasures than to hold a mug of spiked hot chocolate topped with a generous dollop of cream and watch ice skaters whizz by.
That dream becomes an easy reality at Celsius, the room temperature bar at Bryant Park that serves below room temperature drinks such as the one shown.
Celsius has dual levels (the upstairs gives you better aerial views of the skating action and the sparkling shops). The drinks, including the Kahlua hot chocolate, are pricey, at around $15. It is also has a roomy purple-lit restaurant at the back, which serves everything from Mediterranean food to healthy salads.
With winter-inspired cocktail names from the Glacier Punch Bowl (sparkling peach, cranberry and peach vodka) to the Snowjito (a mint-infused grapefruit cocktail), there is something here for everyone.
Bryant Park is a blur of skate-clad gazelles during the winter. Stop by the rental to pick up a pair of skates to size ($14) and glide until 10pm most nights.
