Bike to Brooklyn

New York is certainly best explored on foot but biking isn't a bad option, either. The program is still fairly new but so far, reviews are favorable. The process is simple: unlock, ride and return. Visitors can purchase a 24-hour pass or a 7-day pass depending on the duration of their trip.

Each time you rent a bike, you have 30 minutes before needing to return that bike to a station and pick up a new one. It sounds a little tricky but there are plenty of stations throughout New York City and even New Jersey so it usually isn't a problem. For added help, make sure to download their mobile application that displays all stop stations and bike availability.

Biking across the Williamsburg Bridge is an easy route, because there is a station in the Lower East Side and another once you cross into Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Make sure to use the bike lane and watch out for other riders.
