This culturally rich area is an exciting place to spend an afternoon. The architecture and signage alone demand your attention. If it’s not a comedic spin on a propaganda poster catching your eye, then it’s a busy crosswalk emblazoned with dragon crests. As a photographer, I really enjoy walking around Chinatown because of these types of details. It’s an added plus that the neighborhood is full of restaurants and bars serving everything from traditional dim sum to Asian-inspired cocktails. I was shooting here at noon and the sun was really bright, so the PowerShot G5 X’s built-in neutral density filter came in handy—it allowed me to adjust the light appropriately.
