Where monk's first made wine in Burgundy
After another lazy morning cruising the Canal du Bourgogne on the Prosperite, our tour guide, Rejane brought us to the impressive Clos de Vougeot. Clos de Vougeot is one of the wineries in the "Route des Grand Cru" - an ultra-elite region of land known for the best in Grand Cru wines from Burgundy. See how the Cisterican monks perfected the art of winemaking. Explore the ancient wine presses and soak in the ambiance of the elegant chateau surrounded by vineyards. This statue in the middle of the wine pressing area was impressive. After your visit and walk around their ancient cellars, enjoy some wine tasting.
