Château du Breuil, one of the top distilleries, is located in the midst of the picturesque Pays d’Auge region of Normandy. Calvados from the Pays d’Auge region is known to be of finer quality than that of the rest of Normandy, due to its apples, soil and double distillation process. Château du Breuil owns 22,000 apple trees, which seems a ton, until you learn that more than 25kgs of apples are needed to produce just a single liter of Calvados...
