Château des ducs de Bretagne
Château des ducs de BretagneRestored in the 1990s and reopened in 2007, the castle that dominates Nantes city center was once home to the Dukes of Brittany and later the summer home for the kings and queens of France. Today it houses the Nantes History Museum. A wander through the castle and out onto the ramparts on a summer day is both a respite from the heat and a chance to pretend you're historic French royalty. The castle's surrounding lawn areas are great for a picnic and you shouldn't miss the great slide!
