We entered an elementary school in Valladolid to deliver the donated books to the children and luckily we arrived when the kids were practicing their traditional Mayan dance. The students were rehearsing for their of year performances that celebrated moving up to the next grade. It was very entertaining and intriguing to watch them celebrating their culture. It was truly amazing because it proves the importance their Mayan history and how it’s still kept alive for the children to pass it down from generation to generation.
