Named for one of Cuba’s most famous modern artists, this cultural center presents exhibitions of contemporary art from Cuba, the Caribbean, Latin America, Asia and Africa. Its permanent collection consists of about 1,000 works. In addition to housing the galleries, the center bears primary responsibility for organizing the Havana Biennial art fair (which, despite its name, is held every three years).
