Centennial Bridge

The junior of the canal’s two bridges, the Centennial Bridge was inaugurated in 2004 and the Pan-American Highway was rerouted to pass over it instead of the older Bridge of the Americas. The Centennial is a gorgeous structure whose 128 cables stretch over a span of 430 meters (1,400 feet). Named in honor of Panama's 1903 independence from Colombia, it lies just past the terraced walls of Gold Hill and Contractor's Hill that form part of the dramatic Culebra Cut.
