The first place we went after grabbing our motorini was to check out the famous 375-year-old Ceiba tree located in a somewhat remote area.
The Ceiba tree is off a main road, naturally besides a beach. I was surprised at all the information written on the boards about the tree. The ancient tree is referenced in legends, myths, rainforest history, and indigenous people's stories.
The tree screams personality and was definitely fun to photograph. The coolest thing was the dinosaur-like spikes that cover the newer branches.
Beware, though, of red ant mounds in the field—they were not so friendly!
