Cayman Islands in Photos
Sunset SailOne of the best days I had during my trip to the Cayman Islands is the day that I spent on a catamaran, sailing and swimming around Grand Cayman. The warm waters of the Caribbean felt sublime as I dove off the side of the boat, seeking a brief respite from the heat. We snorkeled over a few reefs and were able to watch many different types of marine life. We also went to Stingray City, where the captain demonstrated how to properly feed a stingray squid, and reminding us to avoid the barbs right above their tails. I even gave one a kiss since it is supposed to bring good luck! We spent the rest of the afternoon going through mangroves and visiting Rum Point. I had such a wonderful time, it was a shock when I looked at my watch and realized that we would be heading back to shore soon. As we pulled into the dock, I decided to run to the beach and take a picture of the golden sunset. As I stood on the beach, I noticed another catamaran sailing towards the docks. It was such a picturesque scene, it perfectly summed up how I felt about the afternoon.

Be Wowed by the Sunset on the Cayman Islands
Take in the marvelous colors of the sunset from the best west-facing beaches in the Cayman Islands. Smith Cove in Grand Cayman is a protected but popular beach to catch the sunset due to its impeccable location and pristine condition. This spot is often the dream destination for beach weddings as well, as the calm water picks up the hues of the sky and becomes perfect for sunset photo sessions. Stroll along Seven Mile Beach to the hidden nooks in the foliage for a more private view of the setting sun. Being that there are seven miles of open west-facing seafront, there are plenty of hideaways available to take in the views.

Snorkeling in the Cayman Islands
This was the first time I had ever snorkeled and I was terrified! After about five minutes, I was a pro. I saw hundreds of different types of fish and coral; it was amazing! Make sure you bring an underwater camera!

While sitting on the plane, eagerly anticipating my first time arrival to the Caribbean Wonderland, the Cayman Islands, my friend nudges my arm. She says to me, “Just wait, as soon as you step off the plane, all of your worries, all of your stress will instantly lift off your shoulders and float away in the breeze”. She must have said that because I kept babbling on and on about work, relationship anxieties, and everything else people deal with on a daily basis. Her statement puts me at ease but I don’t fully comprehend what she means until we land and I step off the plane. The bright sun and salty sea air hits my face and immediately strikes my being with a sense of serenity. After clearing customs and arriving to the condominium, I drop my bags and walk out to the beach. Soft white sand caresses my toes as I descend towards the ocean. The clear blue water extends outward to the end of the horizon while it inhales and exhales each wave onto the beach. Small fish swim in schools around the fossilized coral near my feet and I realize how incredible the Cayman Islands truly are. Whether you want to swim with the stingrays at Stingray City, go scuba diving at the barrier reef, eat fresh conch at a five star restaurant, or sit on the beach and marvel at the beauty of the island, there is an array of activities for every person. I love this place because the incredible ambiance of the Cayman Islands takes you from your everyday stresses into a wonderland of Caribbean delight.
