Catedral de Mallorca
This great Gothic structure stands proudly on the sea wall, dominating the city and the sweep of Palma's bay, and is often described as the loveliest cathedral in Spain
. The interior is composed of a single diaphanous nave held up by eight slender columns. Artworks not to be missed include the 14th-century rose window (12 meters in diameter), the Gaudí-designed canopy above the altar and the Capella del Santíssim, a chapel stunningly re-worked by contemporary Mallorcan painter Miquel Barceló.
