Impressionist Painter's House Museum with an Intimate Secret Garden
The Casa-Museo Jose Benilliur is the private house and garden of Jose Benilliur, a Valencian painter who was a good friend of fellow artist, Joaquín Sorolla.
The house has been lovingly preserved as a museum with all original furnishings—not to mention two galleries of Benilliur's and his father's original paintings and drawings.
What makes a visit extra special is the home's enchanting, intimate garden, replete with ceramic tiles, fountains and statuary. The garden leads to Benilliur's studio where you can view the tools of his art along with a rich variety of objects one can assume fed his muse.
