Casa de la Trova

Bartolomé Masó, Santiago de Cuba, Cuba

As the birthplace of some of Cuba’s best-known musicians, including the late Compay Segundo and several other artists from the globally popular Buena Vista Social Club, Santiago has some serious musical bona fides. But they’re not just historical in nature. Experience live Cuban music and dancing (and mojitos!) at Casa de la Trova, which draws locals and visitors alike. Concerts are held not only at night, but during the day as well—there’s salsa and son at all hours in Santiago.
