Casa de la Emancipación
Casa de la Emancipación, the scene of Peru’s first declaration of independence from Spain in 1820 (one of a series of events that ultimately led to independence a few years later), is more than a pretty facade. Though the building is now owned by a bank, the public is welcome inside, where there’s a gallery of revolving exhibits as well as period furniture.
