What a tasty little treat we have here. No I’m not talking about the flight of craft marvels in front of me, though they are rather tasty. I’m talking about the beautiful town of Durango itself – a hitching post on this Go Ahead tour, but a tremendous destination for a few hours of respite in and of itself. Durango reminds me very much of my own small mountain town – a historic Main Street packed with craft breweries, restaurants and cafes, interesting galleries and shops, and a spectacular mountain backdrop. With my few precious hours in town, I decided to unwind at the Carver Brewing Co. As you can, I took unwinding to heart – I sampled the Black Grizz Stout, Fresh Hop IPA, Raspberry Wheat Ale, and Double Pepper Saison. I chilled out on the sunny patio and wrote notes on the places – and parts of the mountain – I’d like to explore the next time I came through Durango.
