I remember visiting this California town three years ago for a friend’s birthday—and just being blown away by it. It had this amazing juxtaposition of natural beauty and refined culture that seemed really unique to me. The little town, even though it was quaint-looking, had all these beautiful upscale boutiques and terrific art galleries (lots of the people who live there are artists). But then just beyond the town center were these sheer cliffs dropping down to the crashing Pacific Ocean, with giant kelp waving in the surf. It just took my breath away.—Andrew Tedesco
