Captain Tom Mleczko has been fishing in one form or another as far back as he can remember. That passion has translated into a successful charter experience for over 40 years. The emphasis is on light tackle, used by most of Nantucket’s sport fishermen. With so much time on the water, he and his crew know where the fish are running and the company has a loyal following that returns year after year. Depending on the season, bass, bluefish, bonito shark, or tuna might be on the line. Fly- and sight-fishing on the flats was introduced in the ’90s, and much to the traditionalists’ surprise has become a popular part of the summer season. Boats are designed especially for the nuances of the Nantucket waters and anglers regularly come home with fresh catch, filleted and ready for the grill.
