Cape Le Grand National Park
Cape Le Grand National Park
Located 45 minutes outside Esperance, this 31,800-hectare (78,580-acre) park is known for its spectacular coastal scenery, with rugged granite peaks, pristine white beaches, impossibly blue waters and, of course, kangaroos. The most famous beach here is Lucky Bay, a sheltered cove with calm waters that make it perfect for swimming, snorkeling and fishing. The interior plains, populated by gray kangaroos, possums and bandicoots, are alive with wildflowers in the spring. Keep an eye out for southern right whales that migrate along the coast from June to October. The park’s beaches are also popular for four-wheel drives.
