Candie Gardens
These pretty gardens were once the grounds of a stately home, and were opened to the public in the late 19th century. Stroll among manicured lawns and well-kept flower beds, and admire statues of Queen Victoria and Victor Hugo and the view over the town, harbor and smaller islands. Have a cup of tea in the quirky café, once a bandstand; the Guernsey Museum in the middle of the park is worth a look, particularly for its collection of local art.
