Since I'm new to London, I've slowly been discovering each of the (very large) city's neighborhoods. After a day of exploring around Kensington High Street, I just wanted to sit somewhere, spread out and read all the Sunday newspapers. I happened upon this lovely spot and took a large round table by the window. In addition to featuring a range of loose leaf teas, they also offer pastries and other mini bites made each day with fresh ingredients. I chose a ginger and lemon tea, with an appropriately-paired lemon cupcake (so moist!) and sat there for at least 2 hours, during which they not only "topped me up," but the owner offered me a special remedy for my lingering sore throat. (Hot water with raw ginger and lemon.)The decor is quaint and charming, with vintage tea sets, chandeliers and comfortable plush velvet chairs fit for a queen. The background music was appropriate, but not stuffy, with modern tunes from the likes of Adele, Coldplay and more. In a city that offers all types of high-falutin tea experiences, I highly recommend this sweet little gem of a shop.
