Apple Cider + Calvados Tasting in Normandy
Beyond its rich history, Normandy is perhaps best known for its local specialties - salted caramel, creamy milk, a variety of pungent cheeses and heady cider. One of the best spots in the region for the latter is at Pierre Huet in Cambremer where visitors get to tour the distillery, learn about the 40 different apple varieties on-site, and taste a sampling of cider and calvados, paired with various amuses-bouche.

At the time of my visit the first weekend of October, the estate had only just began their harvest which meant there was a whole lot more to see. Teetotaling travelers shouldn't feel left out - their bottles of freshly pressed apple juice are equally as delicious.
