Cala Fuili

08022 Cala Gonone NU, Italy

The cerulean Golfo di Orosei is lined with secluded beaches stashed in coves cut into the high limestone cliffs, but most are only accessible via boat of multi-hour hike. The rocky beach of Cala Fuili is the last beach south of the town of Cala Gonone that is essentially accessible by car—after a 20 minute walk down a precarious staircase from the top of the cliff, that is. Know that there is no parking lot, so during the summer, the narrow road leading up to the trailhead is lined with parked cars. Snag a spot as soon as you can, and be prepared to walk a little more than you expected. Keep an eye out for overhead rock climbers, too, the cliffs that ring the beach are full of established climbing routes.
