When in Lima, I always try to visit the shore, especially during Winter. It is overcast and very romantic, almost melancholic, but yet magic. Calas is a good place to indulge yourself with good local food in a quiet environment and a good glass of wine. The view of this place is inspiring either alone or in good company.
Visit Cala Restaurant, just off the coast of Barranco district, to try their glutenous dessert taster. These incredibly rich, bite-size samples include local ingredients like chirimoya, coconut and pineapple custards, fresh key lime pie dollops, as well as a chocolate cake, and rhubarb cheesecake.
These delectable delicacies all pair exceptionally well with local dark beer Cusqueña Negra. The deep caramel flavors balance out the tartness of the fruit while also enhancing the richness of the chocolate dishes. The natural carbonation in the beer keeps everything light and enjoyable. Making this unique tasting experience one to remember.
