Café de los Angelitos
The musical art form that is the tango was born in the rough working-class areas of Buenos Aires. Its heyday came in the 1920s–1940s, when it was made famous by crooners like Carlos Gardel performing at the Café de los Angelitos and other venues. This ornate coffeehouse in the Balvanera district is one of the oldest and most authentic tango spots in the city. The performances here are known for their high level of choreography, stage lighting and musicianship.
