Right on Solomos Square in the capital, this impressive museum showcases the art of the Byzantine Empire during the Middle Ages. The museum's 15th- and 16th-century icons are the biggest draw, but it also has some exceptional paintings, frescoes and wood carvings. Look for the model of the town before the massive earthquake of 1953. For art and history lovers, this centrally located museum is well worth a stop.
