You’ll find beautiful views of the river and amazing architecture all along Brühl's Terrace (nicknamed Europe’s Balcony), and since my hotel was just around the corner, I found myself spending some time there each day. One morning, I enjoyed my coffee in a quiet spot in the lovely garden on the east end. A few times, I grabbed a bratwurst from the cart on Münzgasse before heading up the steps and finding a seat on the terrace to watch the boats going by. I would recommend at least once, to walk the entire terrace and take in the view atop the steps at Castle Square, where you’ll see the Cathedral, Opera House, George’s Gate, and Dresden Castle, as well as a great little biergarten across the way serving up Radeberger and Kostritzer Schwarzbier (also recommended).
