Join the party and glide down the relatively slow moving waters of the Brazos, located around 150 miles from Dallas. With 70 miles of stellar tubing flow, the water remains mostly flat and languid, with the occasional rapid or stubborn sandbar. In summer, head to the 41 miles below Possum Kingdom Dam, where the water tends to be deeper. Dramatic valleys and rolling hills, flecked with wildflowers, make spring a lovely time to cruise here, while autumn brings an orange tint to the trees not common in Texas.
