Starry Nights with the Houston Museum of Natural Science
An extension of the nationally known Houston Museum of Natural Science, the George Observatory lies about an hour south of Houston, in Brazos Bend State Park. There are three large research domes here, all of which you can enter to gaze into their massive telescopes as you learn about the night sky from Observatory astronomers. Classes are also available throughout the year, so if you’re doing more than passing through, check out courses that teach you more about the starry abyss, as well as how to set up your own telescope and become an amateur astronomer yourself.
