Brancacci ChapelThis small chapel in the Church of Santa Maria del Carmine houses one of the most important fresco cycles in Florentine art. It was painted by three great Renaissance artists: Masolino began the work in 1425, his pupil Masaccio continued the piece and Filippino Lippi finished it 50 years later. The vivid frescos are famous for their use of perspective and chiaroscuro effects. The best-known scenes, by Masaccio, are of Adam and Eve being cast out of the Garden of Eden.
