Boulud Sud Opens in MiamiIn January 2018, Boulud Sud by celebrated Chef Daniel Boulud opened at the JW Marriott in downtown Miami. The acclaimed eatery originally opened in New York City, however the Miami location offers a new menu of international flavors.
The airy dining room is filled with textures and neutral tones, creating a tranquil vibe upon entry. With minimalist light fixtures and Moroccan-inspired tile floors, there's always something to look at while dining. With warm woods and exotic plants, it truly exudes the spirit of South Florida.
“The design of Boulud Sud will bring together the charm of Provence, the warm spice and fragrant herbs of Mediterranean cuisine to pair with the casual elegance of Miami, highlighted with original artwork by Vik Muniz,” said Daniel Boulud. “It will be the perfect backdrop for our vibrant Mediterranean menu."
To start, sip the Grapefruit Blossom gin and elderflower cocktail cocktail and pair with a savory selection of Mediterranean dips with crunchy lavash bread. In addition, crispy artichokes with a creamy and flavorful aioli is a standout prior to the main course.
The wine menu pairs perfectly with the international flavors on the menu, including a Greek red that was light bodied and airy. Menu highlights include the seared Mediterranean branzino and the Moroccan chicken tagine. Executive Chef Clark Bowen pleasantly illustrates the worlds flavors with complex seasoning and use of international herbs.
Although you'll be full by the end, dessert is a must. The Grapefruit Givre with sesame halva, rose loukoum and grapefruit sorbet is a favorite in both Miami and NY, however the most comforting was the warm basket of madelines that paired perfectly with a hot espresso.
Boulud Sud is ideal for those in the downtown area, looking for a zen eatery by the water. The restaurant also serves lunch and Sunday brunch.
