While in Boston, we made our way over to see Propeller Theatre Company’s performance of Comedy of Errors. Propeller is a London-based all-male company that does incredible modern stagings of Shakespeare. This sounds like a recipe for cheesy-ness. Totally not, my friends. Well, unless they mean to be cheesy. I became acquainted with this group back in Ann Arbor when my company presented them in April. In Boston, they were presented by the Huntington Theatre Company which occupies space in Boston University’s Theatre. Highlight from this show? A slightly podgy, forty-something, charcoal-daubed Englishman with a lit sparkler stuck up his rear running through the audience. Naked. Yep.
Post-show, we hung with the cast and crew backstage. The folks at Huntington have a longstanding Saturday night tradition called “Margarita Night.” Self-explanatory, I think.
