Boston Duck Tours
Boston’s famous duck boats seem to get almost as much parade duty as time on the water: “The City of Champions” rolls them out every time the Pats, Sox, Celts, or Bruins win a title, but you don’t need a gaudy ring or trophy to join a fun land-and-sea tour of Boston’s historic sites and waterfront. A fleet of vintage World War II amphibious vehicles launches tours from the Museum of Science, the New England Aquarium, and the Prudential Center in the Back Bay; routes vary from location to location, but all give a pretty good overview of downtown Boston and are highlighted by a plunge into the Charles River (about a quarter of the 80-minute trip is on water; the rest is on city streets).
