Protected by Île-Bonaventure-et-du-Rocher-Percé National Park’s natural environment and conservation mandate, Bonaventure Island is an essential nesting habitat for several rare bird species, including the lovely northern gannets. Every summer, over 100,000 of them return to breed in pairs, making it the largest and most accessible colony in the world. Each pair raises one chick, and in the fall, they all head to the Gulf of Mexico for winter. Bring binoculars.
