Boge is one of only a handful of villages in Kosovo's Rugova Gorge. The Gorge is the most popular and famous natural wonder in the country. Boge is tucked in a small valley of several mountains almost on the Montenegrin border. The village is a hot destination for domestic tourists as well as some internationals, so hotels are popping up alongside sheep and goat farms. Life is changing in the village and will only continue to as Boge's focus shifts from survival to tourism.
For now, the village offers a great location for an easy weekend getaway from any city in Kosovo. Accommodations are reasonably priced and the hiking is great. You may even find yourself among the dwindling sheep population.
