Texas’s Only Blueberry Festival
For over 25 years each June, Texans have been celebrating the vibrant little fruit known as the blueberry at the Annual Texas Blueberry Festival in downtown Nacogdoches. With nearly 20,000 people coming out to the festival, there are all sorts of competitions and opportunities for family fun—and every single one involves the blueberry. The Little Miss Blueberry Pageant is a crowd favorite, along with a blueberry pie bake-off and eating contest, a blueberry cupcake battle, and the Running of the Blueberries 5k Run/Walk—for those who want to stay fit while celebrating. With most events taking place near the Old Towne General Store, the fest features activities, crafts, live music, and all the blueberry food and fun that you could imagine, packed into one lively weekend.
