Follow the Apple Pie Trail
Seems like something about both the climate and the geography in this region have made for prime apple-growing. Here, there are more apple orchards per capita than any other region in Ontario—even the better known 'fruit belt' southeast of here.
Couple that with winter and you’ve got a formula for apple pie, not always the best friend to your waistline. That, in addition to other "tour" higlights, from culinary classes to downright decadent meals and desserts, means you’ve also got to get some exercise in.
That’s why a local partnership called, appropriately, the “Apple Pie Trail," offers the perfect experience.
Sure you can do a wine-tasting, sure you can pick up a slab of apple-cured bacon, but you still have to make friends with your body.
Here’s one adventure they offer: ride a bike, do a picnic and paddle down a local river.
