Black Sand Beaches

The Black Sand Beaches run along the southern coast of Iceland. Right off route 1 you’ll find them on your way into Vík. While there are many famous sites to see along the way from Mydral to Dyrhólaey, walking the Black Sand Beaches are a site in itself. There are breathtaking views in all directions. To the north you see Mýrdalsjökull glacier, to the east you will see the beautiful black lava seastacks Reynisdrangar and to the west you can view the endless black coastline.
