Brunch at the Museum
You might not think of most museums as dining destinations, but Oscar’s at the Birmingham Museum of Art certainly is. The restaurant serves lunch during the week, but its musical brunch—offered only on select Sundays—is worth a trip, whether or not you want to check out the museum too. Help yourself to a huge array of options, which might include ham glazed with Coca-Cola, lobster three-cheese macaroni, and made-to-order waffles. The showstopper is a dessert table brimming with decadent treats. The buffet brunch even includes a little tipple; choose from a mimosa, champagne, beer, or wine. For something lighter, try the tapas night, held the first Thursday of every month, to sample charcuterie, cheeses, and other small bites.
