Bird-watching
While most visitors to the Great Barrier Reef focus their attention under the water, the seabirds of this region are just as exquisite as the marine life. There have been 40 species of seabirds documented on the Great Barrier Reef, with 24 of them breeding in the region. It's possible to see a number of species nesting here, including sooty terns, silver gulls and common noddies, among others.
